Creating Invites

Since it was asked and has been asked in the past I decided to make a page on how to create events on the calendar.

Create Guild Event

WoWScrnShot_060216_095417First you are going to right click on the day you want to make the event and select “Create Guild Event”. (Click on Image to see larger view will open in a new tab/window)

WoWScrnShot_060216_095745Now looking at the image to the left the place that I have “Test Name” is the place you would put your title of the event. This will be the name that shows up on the calendar. The place that says “Description” is the place you would explain what this event is all about along with what you would like other players to know. (Example Players need to bring their own food. Players need to bring their own flasks. Players need to ….) Another box to look at is the one that says “Other” When you click on this it gives you options of “Raid, Dungeon, PvP, Meeting, and Other” If you select “Raid, or Dungeon” you get to select a raid or dungeon from the list Blizzard provides. Then you need to set the time. In the time part would be the time the event starts. Now I would suggest setting this time to server time. If you decide to put the time in your local time then make sure to say in the description the time zone the time is set for.  Once you have done all this make sure to his the “Create” button and it will show up on all guild members calendars! (Click on Image to see larger view will open in a new tab/window)

Now for the Create Guild Event you can not invite people in the guild to these kinds of events. The guild players need to sign up. However if you have a friend who is not in the guild (If that is the case why not? Work on getting them to join the family! :-p)

Create Event

WoWScrnShot_060216_100740First you are going to right click on the day you want to make the event and select “Create Event”. (Click on Image to see larger view will open in a new tab/window)

WoWScrnShot_060216_100744Everything is the same as the Create Guild Event with the exceptions of people will not see them if they are not on the list. With this kind of event you the creator need to invite players. The box that says “Player Name” you will need to type or paste in the players name one at a time you want to invite to this event. Once you have done this you have to click the “Create” and it will show up on the calendar of the players you have invited to the event! (Click on Image to see larger view will open in a new tab/window)

On both events when it is time for the event a button called “Invite Members” will show up and you can push this button when it is time for your event to start so you don’t need to invite everyone one at a time. If you invite enough people to be a raid the system will convert you to a raid on its own.

WoWScrnShot_060216_101426A option that both kinds of events have is the ability to “Set invite Status”. With this option you can set anyone who signed up for your event or you invited to your event to “Accepted, Confirmed, Out, Standby, or Tentative” *NOTE if you are a Moderator on an invite list you will need to do this to your own name.* Another ability you have is to “Grant Moderator Status” to other people. Doing this will let these players invite to the event, Set Invite Status, Remove people from the list, and invite to party or raid. Another ability you have is “Remove”. This will remove the player from the list of people showing up in the event. It will only remove that character it will not remove all the alts of that player. So if a player is listed many times with different alts you will need to remove each one of them. Last ability is “Invite to Party or Raid” this will let you invite a player from the list and not from the Guild UI or Friends List UI. I guess this is useful if you have a PUG and you don’t have them on your friends list and they get in vent and say they are ready for an invite. All of these ability’s are accessed by right clicking on a players name in the list. (Click on Image to see larger view will open in a new tab/window)

Create Guild Announcement

WoWScrnShot_060216_102520The last event that can be created is the “Create Guild Announcement” this one shows up on players calendars and they can see what is going on. Example being the Launch of an xpac, or a real life event that players want the guild to know about. Same as the above options but you can not select what players see this. All players in the guild will see this. (Click on Image to see larger view will open in a new tab/window)

So that is all of the event creation options at this point in time with the in game calendar. Any questions feel free to hit me up on the Facebook page or in game.
